Two venerable veterans of Conrail, 20 year old SD40-2's 6445 and 6451 rest at Beacon Park Enginehouse. They'll live to work for CSX, battling the Berkshires with TV trains!





EMD SD60I, rests at Beacon Park Enginehouse, Boston, MA. She's a beautiful and functional design!





A mixed consist of power leads a general merchandise into Boston, through Weston MA. They're passing over Interstate 95, here.





Another mixed consist of power works eastbound at Weston, MA. Next stop - Beacon Park Yard!





A general merchandise freight enters State Line Tunnel, New York, headed for Pearlman Yard, Selkirk. John Gillis looks on!



Train SERE's Power has just arrived from Selkirk. It includes 3 GE C30-7A's and one MEC, EMD SD40. They idle in Yard #1, Readville, Ma. Tonight about midnight, they'll make the trip west.



General Electric B23-7, #2010, is still in original GE paint! That's 16 years! It's May 1993! That would indicate that this engine has needed no major overhauls!



EMD GP15-1 #1645, idles at Readville's #1 Yard. These were built in 1979 from the components of traded-in GP9's. Each receiving a new 645 engine.





Train WARE1 has derailed in Yard #5, Readville. The Beacon Park Boom Crane and crew are on scene. Amtrak personnel also assist.

Conrail, EMD SD40 #6352, leads the Bethlehem "drill engines" in May 1986. This engine is now on the roster of CRL (Conrail leasing). Ed St.George collection/Lee Casey photo.

The Saucon "drill", westbound crossing the diamond at CP "Beth" It's where the former Reading RR crossed the Lehigh Valley. The CR 6306 is a former Penn Central EMD SD40.



The freshly painted Conrail blue buggy and the power still in Penn Central Black, with "Interim Image" markings, make Train SERE typical of the first several years of Conrail. this is 1978, at Readville MA.



Conrail train SEBO trots through Framingham station on this beautiful, sunny day with Bay Colony Railroad GP9(r) #1702 in tow. She's being returned home from heavy repairs at Altoona Shops. Nice fresh Paint!



Conrail EMD SD40-2 #6476 is the trailing unit on what is to be train FRSE. She's at the west end of Nevins Yard, Framingham, backing onto the first of 2 doubles to make up her train. She'll go west to Selkirk.
