Conrail train FRSE8 hits the crossing at Ashland, Ma. in August 1998. She's got 4 C30-7A's, 2 SD40-2's and 1 SD45-2 for power and 112 cars, westbound for Selkirk. All engines were powered up - no "deadheads here!"

Train FRSE8 at Ashland Ma. SD40-2 #6476 is the last, trailing unit in the power consist. This train took 4 hours to get the next 20 miles, to CP43 at Worcester. She had to set out Bad order cars at Westboro, MA.

EMD SD45-2 #6658, normally assigned to pusher service, over the alleghanies at Gallitzin, PA. (Horseshoe Curve) is giving Train FRSE8 the best of her 3600 horses, through the center of Ashland, MA.

GE C30-7a #6571 in the consist of Conrail trail FRSE8, helps to deliver the 112 car manifest to Selkirk. She's at Ashland, MA. 8/98.

One of the prettiest and most utilitarian units of power Conrail ever purchased was the C30-7A. Here, #6554 is in the consist of Train FRSE8, at Ashland, MA. in August 1998. Guttra Luv 'em!

At the center of Ashland, Ma., Train FRSE8, passes the beautiful, former Boston and Albany RR (NYC) passenger station, westbound, at about 10 mph. Following this train - ALL DAY- only took me as far at Worcester!

A little closer, now, FRSE8 reveals her 7 engine power consist. This collection of power was a real treat to see! 21,600hp!

The sound of EMD and GE power accelerating, filling the hot, sunny, August air, the smell of diesel exhaust from 21,600 horsepower, the GE horns sounding out a crossing. The gate bells ringing, the conductor waveing...This must be what heaven is like! 8/98 at Ashland, MA.

This placid image of a Conrail freight, at MP395 in Rochester New York, taken by Todd Roberts, and sent by Dave Coleman, foretells the future, as siblings, Conrail and CSX, jaunt through the countryside. I love this picture!

Train SEBO with EMD SD80MAC's 4111 and 4112, GE C40-8W #6264 and 6044, plus an EMD SD60I, pulls into Nevins' Yard. They stopped and set out the Framingham cars. Then set out the C40's and SD60 for re-crewing to lead FRSE, then continued on to Beacon Park with their train

General Electric C40-8W (GE: Dash840CW) is Now in charge of Conrail Train SEBO, at CP22. The two lead units 80MACs #4111 and 4112 were cut off the lash-up. She's real pretty!

A real nice view of C40-8W #6264 shows off her brutish good looks. GE's got a winner here! Nevins' Yard (CP22) 9/98.

General Electric B23-7 #1963 looks ALL of her 20 years old in this view on track Nevins 6 at CP22, Framingham, MA. She's with sister B23-7 #1998 and 2023.

I couldn't resist taking a picture of the geometry caused by shading and beautiful angles of C40-8Ws #6044, whose number board shows, and #6264, showing her angled radiators. 9/98-Framingham MA. (CP22)

While the conductor rides the head-end "porch" Train SEBO, bound for Beacon ParkYard, Boston, MA., enters the interlocking limits of CP22 on The Conrail Boston Line. 9/98.
