An MBTA Stoughton local sails through Readville Transfer on her way to Route 128/University Park Station. She's just come off of track 3 and is accelerating from 45 mph to the normal 90.
A westbound MBTA Worcester train navigates through the heavy traffic at CP22, Framingham, MA., as the remnants of SEBO sit on the main. The bulk of SEBO's cars are dropped at Framingham.
An eastbound MBTA Worcester train enters the western limits of Nevins Yard, Framingham, heading for Boston. The Kawasaki bi-levels are quiet. On the welded rail, the train is almost silent. Real pretty equipment!
A westbound Attleboro local proceeds through Readville Station at Medium speed on track three. There's an eastbound coming also. The Hi-Speed Rail warning devices are sounding on both sides of the tracks!
The Eastbound commuter sounds her whistle for Readville Station and screams through in notch 8. The Kawasaki control car #1717 leads the consist with engine EMD F40PH-2C #1062 pushing.
The Kawasaki bi-level coaches of the Readville Shuttle sit in Readville station, on track 4 at Hill. He'll change ends here and head back to Boston's South Station via The Dorchester Branch. 9/12/00.
MBTA GP40mc #1131 pushes the Readville shuttle out of the station at Hill and heads towards Boston. The shuttle runs every half hour at peak and every hour off-peak, from 0600 to 2200hrs, weekdays. 9/12/00
Amtrak EMD F40PH #295 is one of four of this model leased by The MBTA to ease a power crunch as the MKCO F40PH-2Cs get a rebuils at Boise. Here 295 heads up a Franklin local and climbs the grade from the NEC.
Brand new MBTA, EMD, F40PH-2C #1057 is doing the honors at the grand re-opening of The Needham Branch line. Tours of the train, free rides, balloons and souvenirs are all included! The Needham Branch was completely rebuilt using welded rail and concrete ties.
MBTA F40PH-2C #1050, fresh from the factory leads a string of former RDC's, rebuilt into coaches by MKCo, out of South Station, Boston, MA. These coaches were noisy and not very popular residents living along the Northeast Corridor! They retained the Budd trucks.
MBTA GP40MC #1139, last of the order from AMF Techno-Transport, pushes a commuter mid-day run to Boston. She's seen at Norwood Central Station 01/17/01. The high platforms seen by the engine's flanks are for wheelchair passengers.
MBTA EMD/AMF GP40MC #1139, seen picking up mid-day passengers at Norwood Central Station looks really nice in the snow. She's headed for Boston's South Station, about 18 miles ahead. This is a Franklin Local, heading eastbound.
Here's a picture of Messerschmidt Control Car #1529 easing through Readville Station. There "wagon-top" coach/control cars are the more eye-appealing to THIS railfan. The Pullman Standard cars appear more "flattened" 01/22/01.
