Canton Junction Station, a remarkable example of B&P Railroad architecture, is located in Canton, Massachusetts, just 2 miles off I95 and just a quarter mile east of the famous Canton Viaduct. The grand old station found herself being uprooted and moved 75 feet back from the Amtrak NEC tracks. The move was necessitated by the station's closeness to the new High Speed Amtrak electric service. As a result of the move, The MBTA is able to bring the Stoughton Branch into the station on a much safer, new track, without the NEC being tied up. There is a lot of construction action at Canton and well worth a look. Below are 10 images I was able to snap there on a fantastic, sunny afternoon. ps: The building was moved by International Chimney Inc. Movers of ANYTHING STRUCTURAL!
